Getting fancy with tea
Tea ball/blooming tea- is made up of a bundle of dried tea leaves and flowers by a string then as hot water is poured on top the ball begins to bloom.

Kayaking in Fort Worth

Went Kayaking today at Trinity River in Fort Worth, it was honestly a super hard work out, Kayaking for 2hr in 108 degree weather ( 42ºC) I was literally dying at the end, but i guess i have a nice tan from it! the river was very calm and peaceful to kayak on. The river overlooked Fort Worth downtown and went into swampy areas. There was so much wild life on the Trinity River, I loved it so much:) such a great hobby!

The Backwoods Kayak & Canoe concession is located at Panther Island Pavilion within the Trinity Uptown Neighborhood District at 480 N. Taylor - See more at: http://www.kayakfortworth.com/#sthash.TkM5Khlu.dpuf

Iceland River Rafting

RIVER RAFTING

BLOG MOVED TO
icelandkristin.blogspot.com

River Rafting in the Weat Glacier River was amazing! the experience was scary but also unforgettable. I went to Bakkaflot, about 100km from Akureyri and near Varmahild. The West Glacier river was very beautiful, the river was not so daunting as i thought it would be. However, it did have its moments. After doing the West River i want to do the East Glacier River (the harder one) i am officially in love with river rafting. The trip was a total of 3 hours, including cliff jumping and a nice hot tub chilling at the end. Bakkaflot River Rafting gave us all the equipment we need: helmets, life vest, wet suit, boots and a wet jacket. The price was about 8,900 Icelandic Kronas, that is about $73 dollars, the harder East river is 15,900 Kronas. The guides are also very experienced and very awesome, because of that i felt completely safe. I cant wait for next summer to do the East river!

Iceland Road Trip

   ICELAND TRIP 2013...... AMAZING.

During my 5 week stay in Iceland I visited many amazing places such as seen in the photo above. The list below a few of my favorite places in Iceland:)

1.) Jökulsárlón, in English this is translated into  "glacial river lagoon". This place was all around breathtaking. Jokulsarlon is the deepest lake in Iceland, about 814ft and 6.9 sq mi. The ghostly luminous blues of the ice glaciers were absolutely amazing . They give out boat tours around the Glacial lagoon, its a must do if you visit!

2.) Geysir located in southwestern Iceland, if you've never seen a geyser then you must go! Geysir is always shooting up hot water every minute, however you could be unlucky. Geysir can hurl boiling water up to 70 meters in the air!, it is also said to be about 10,000 years old.
3.)Gullfoss waterfall this was one of my favorite waterfalls in Iceland. Gullfoss is located in the canyon of Hvítá river in southwest Iceland. The reason this water fall is so amazing is because it creates a three step
staircase. Not only that but it is extremely powerful, you can feel your heart vibrating as you stand on the edge of the fall!

4.)Skogafoss was my favorite waterfall, Skogafoss is one of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland with a 200ft drop! and a with of 82ft.  This waterfall is just spectacular up close, you can walk right to the drop of the fall, but be ready to get super wet!!!

5.)svartifoss waterfall is located in Skaftafell national park. The waterfall is surrounded by dark lava columns, the columns eventually break away and fall to the ground creating a beautiful look.

6.) Skaftafell national park was the best national park I've been to.  We camped out at the park for 2 days, it was very nice and quite comfortable. The thing i love most was they had a simple EASY walking trail to vatnajokull. In the picture above i am actually walking on the the Vatnajokull Glacier, The black is actually dirt and sand on top of the ice Glacier if you look closely you can see and feel the ice under your feet as you walk. Below is a picture of me holding the ice from Vatnajokull ( the biggest Glacier in Iceland )
Below again are some pictures of the walk to Vatnajokull
7.) If you want a nice sunny escape from all the ice you can head to the hot springs in reykjadalur laugar that's if the Iceland weather allows you to! the nice relaxation of the hot spring however comes with a price, a 1hr uphill hike, but its worth it:)
8.) Black sand beach Vik was one of my favorite places the landscape was one of those breathless moments. The beach is covered with black sand and with high rock walls that cover the beach, out in the ocean there are large rocks that stand hundreds of feet high with amazing designs to them.

The beach has many caves, fun for explorers! ( above)

9.) OF course the BEACH! Nautholsvik beach, this beach is a geothermal beach so the water is warm! they also have hot tubs around the beach to keep you warm, just make sure to go on a good sunny day:)

During my travel to these amazing places we traveled on Highway 1, these are a few random pics of the  road trip of the landscape.

Iceland has a bunch of mountains like these. (above)

The cool thing about Iceland I love is that there is a waterfall at every corner. (above)

Exploring Iceland was the greatest experience, there is so much beauty everywhere. I definitely felt like I was in a Lord Of The Rings movie.
                                                                      XOXO Iceland
